TODAY - Saturday 4th May

Mostly cloudy and misty today in many areas. Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle too, mainly affecting Ulster and north Leinster. However, drier and brighter weather in the southwest will edge slowly northwards. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees with a light west to southwest breeze.

TONIGHT

Patchy rain and drizzle will continue to affect parts of the north and northeast tonight, while staying drier elsewhere with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 10 degrees, potentially cooler under clearer skies across the south and west. Mist and fog will form in light and variable winds.

TOMORROW - Sunday 5th May

Rather cloudy over Ulster on Sunday with the chance of patchy rain or drizzle at times over the northern half of the province. Largely dry elsewhere across the country with sunny spells and just a few showers. However, it will turn cloudier in southern coastal areas during the day with the chance of some rain or drizzle along southern coasts. Maximum temperatures generally ranging from 15 to 18 degrees but a little cooler in coastal areas.

National Outlook

Overview: The rest of the bank holiday will see cloud and rain at times but conditions will improve through next week with high pressure bringing mostly dry settled conditions.

Sunday night: Cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread from the north overnight. Remaining mainly dry with clear spells in the southeast. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees in light to moderate northwest winds.

Monday: A mostly cloudy day overall with some patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle at times. Becoming largely dry by the evening with sunny spells developing in parts of Munster and south Leinster. Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, in a light to moderate northerly wind, with best values further south.

Monday night: Largely dry with clear spells developing. Remaining mostly cloudy in the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees in a light northerly breeze.

Tuesday: Tuesday looks to be a brighter and drier day with cloudy conditions in the west during the morning giving way to good spells of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, in a light northerly breeze

Tuesday night: Dry with clear spells for much of the night. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in light variable breezes.

Wednesday: Bright and largely dry on Wednesday with sunny spells and just patches of rain and drizzle possible in the west at times. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, in a light to moderate south to southwest wind.

Overview: High pressure will continue to bring milder, settled conditions although with some cloud and light rain at times.
